Jebel Akhdar Mountains is famous for its labyrinth of wadis (river valleys) and terraced orchards, where pomegranates, apricots, and roses grow in abundance due to its mild Mediterranean climate. The highest peak in the Jebel Akhdar Mountains is Jebel Shams,[4] which with its elevation of 3,018 m (9,902 ft) is also the highest peak in the Hajar range and in Oman.The views are magnificant, the walks beautiful, it is cool and more quiet than in the Nizwa area, certainly worth while the trip. Diana Point

The most famous spot in Jabal Al Akhdar would be an observation point that is commonly known as the Diana Point. As the name suggested, this is an alleged spot that Diana, the Princess of Wales, and Prince Charles visited during the royal visit to Oman in 1986. They were flown in a helicopter and spent six hours at this spot enjoying the splendid view of the canyon and terraced field. Prince Charles did some paintings here while the Princess did some reading. From what I could gather, this was a leisurely getaway for the royal couple. ​
